Day 11

Today is a very warm day compared to the past few day. we had around 15 deg - 0 deg.

We went to class for lesson at 0830. However, the class turned in to presentation of our Singapore EVD Project 3. The Wang lao shi wanted us to do some exchange session with the student. Perhaps this will give them some exposure to the works that are done out of China.

After which we went for lunch and made new spectacles. Majority of us made a new spectacle in Jilin, we got like 40% discount - 60% discount. average specs cost around S$40.

EVD students- we went back to class after making our specs (1300) and continue our drawing class till (1900). After which we had dinner with our friend from Jilin Collage of the arts at the curry house.

ADM students- went back to class to tie knots, and had some dinner.

VSC- after spectacles went to school and had dinner with students who went Singapore with the previous exchange programme.

MORE TO COME. SO STAY TUNE!

day 9-tuesday
In the morning, tang lao shi told us he had something on in the morning so our rendering class was cancelled. He asked us to go to another lao shi's class and the lao shi taught us more about manual drawing and rendering.

after that, around 1130 we met the ADM-ers for lunch at Curry House.

then after lunch.. tang lao shi offered to drive us to 黑水路... and 2 of our china friends An Xu and hong yan accompanied us there.

Basically, 黑水路 is like a "pi fa shi chang". So the things they sell there are much cheaper than those in guilin lu and hong qi jie, where they have more fashionable stuff.

We actually managed to captured some of the older buildings which i think is either built by USSR or the japanese and they are quite unique.

we didn't really managed to buy alot of stuff.. but we had fun strolling and taking alot of pictures.

At the end of the day, we walked a distance and we took the "light rail train" 轻轨列车。Its actually like the Singapore MRT but the only have like 2 cabinets so its like kind of short. but the experience was fun.

So the return trip took us around 15mins to reach the nearest stop to our school and we had to walk another 10 mins from the train station back to our hostel.

Then in the evening, An Xu and hong yan went back to school for their class from 5 to 7pm.

here are some of the pictures taken...will upload more picture=)

After taking a break during the weekend, we went back to school for the new week. So as usual, all of us went to our respective classes.

And today after school, we saw snow again! Just a snow flurry, but enough to put smiles of excitement on our faces.

The highlight of the day was the steamboat dinner at the end of the day. We went to this restaurant near our school. The ambience was quite nice, the price reasonable. It felt as though we were a family having our reunion dinner.

More to come :)

Breakfast was fast food again but it was KFC this time round.
It was snowing again and it was heavier and the flakes are bigger.

After breakfast, we continued our weekend shopping again at the wholesale centre at Dong Dan Tiao (东三条). The places we went to are Hei Shui Lu Pi Fa (黑水路批发) and Yuan Dong Pi Fa (远东批发). The clothes over there are really cheap, starting from 10 RMB which is approximately S$2.30.

We were too engrossed about shopping that we forgot about lunch. There we had our late lunch cum early dinner at around 4.30pm at Heigouvoya in a nearby shopping mall. It is very similar to Yoshinoya.

Then, we went back to hostel to rest and complete our assignments.

It’s finally weekend!

We had our ‘breakfast’ at McDonalds at around 10am plus. Unfortunately, we missed the McDonalds’ breakfast as it ended at 10am. So this is what we had for lunch.

The food they have is similar to what we have in Singapore. However, they do serve pork burgers, yam pie and pineapple sundae which Singapore McDonalds doesn’t but they don’t have our favourite garlic chilli and curry sauce. Sadly also, they don’t serve hotcakes and big breakfast.

After our delicious ‘breakfast’, we started our shopping at Gui Lin Lu (桂林路). Our trip was fruitful with lots of clothes, bags, shoes, etc.

Then we treated ourselves to ice cream and strawberries!

On the way back from the ice cream stall, we saw sunset. The sky was filled with the orange warmth even though it was super cold outdoors.

In the evening, our china friends brought us to a Korean cuisine restaurant for dinner.

This is the room that had our dinner in.

We had lots of Kimchi, barbeque meat, suishi, etc. and beer.

This is how we ended our day with a super full meal.
